Montchavin - Les Coches is part of the Paradiski domain, which encompasses La Plagne, Les Arcs, and Peisey-Vallandry. Seasoned skiers can effortlessly traverse between the three areas.

La Plagne lies across the valley from Peisey-Vallandry, and they are linked by a substantial double-decker cable car that ferries skiers to and fro - directly from Montchavin village to Peisey village. This connection is evident on the piste maps.

An app named YUGE is available for download and provides the piste map along with real-time updates. For safety reasons, we also advise carrying a paper map in your pocket, especially if your battery runs out.

Ski Lessons

Whether it's your first time skiing or you're a seasoned skiier, we believe it's beneficial to take a ski lesson or two during your holiday. Prices and times may vary slightly depending on the time of year. In Montchavin - Les Coches, we offer two options for ski schools. The local ski schools with highly experienced instructors with fluent English skills are:

We're on hand to book lessons on your behalf and while the office staff speak excellent English, this helps avoid any misunderstandings. We'll confirm your lessons via email and request payment by credit card.

Group ski lessons: Adults, teenagers, and children aged three and above can join group ski or snowboard lessons. Groups are organised by age and skill level.

Private ski lessons: Private lessons, tailored to your pace and level, are available in Montchavin - Les Coches. These often result in faster progress as they cater directly to the individual's needs. Whether booking group or private lessons, we guarantee an English-speaking instructor.

Young children’s ski lessons: In Montchavin - Les Coches, there's a ski club for children aged three to five. For three to four-year-olds, it's Mini Club Piou Piou (ESF) or Panda (Evolution 2), and for four to five-year-olds, Club Piou Piou (ESF) or Yetison (Evolution 2). Lessons take place in the secure snow gardens of Montchavin or Les Coches. Features include gentle slopes, safety barriers, a travelator for uphill returns, slaloms, soft obstacles, and snow games. Children can join morning or afternoon sessions, and durations vary between one and two and a half hours. Parents often opt for morning sessions, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.

Adaptive skiing: The ESF ski school, in collaboration with the Rhône-Alpes region, offers adaptive skiing for individuals with disabilities, supplying all necessary equipment at no charge. Instructors are trained to support various disabilities. Sit-skiers use a specialised ski chair with attached skis and outriggers (poles with mini skis) for stability.

All our Montchavin chalets and apartments are within a very short walk from SporTeam. We use Montchavin SporTeam Shops for in-shop ski and snowboard hire in Montchavin - La Plagne. To ensure your comfort, you go into the shop and try different skis, snowboards, boots and helmets. The technicians spend time with you to get the correct fit. They have over 300 pairs of skis and 50 snowboards in any one shop, and you can exchange in the next village if the ski shop isn’t open when you’d like to switch your equipment. They also have secure, heated ski lockers at the top of Les Coches ski lift that you can use during your stay.

Lift Passes

You can pre-book your ski lift pass with Ski La Source. Once we have your requirements we will
determine the appropriate passes and commit to matching the online price. We will then deliver
them straight to your accommodation, so you don’t have to queue to buy or redeem an e-voucher in
resort.

Lift passes can be purchased for La Plagne or the entire Paradiski area, encompassing Les Arcs. The
region extends discounted offers to under 5s, individuals over 75 and those with disabilities
(identification may be required).

Payments for passes are due at least one week prior to your arrival, to allow required time to
process and issue them. Payments can be made via credit card, debit card, or a direct transfer to our
French bank account with all prices quoted in Euros.

Montchavin - Les Coches is a renowned family-friendly ski resort, proudly holding the Famille Plus label, a national accreditation recognising destinations tailored exceptionally for families. Paradiski, accessible from Montchavin - Les Coches, has 425 kilometres of skiable terrain with a diverse range of pistes. Situated under the picturesque Bellecôte glacier and amongst the tree-lined slopes, the resort provides diverse skiing experiences, from groomed pistes to challenging off-pistes.
